JobAssist alternatives: 6 AI job application tools compared
The best JobAssist alternative depends on what you want to fix. For published prices without an intro-to-renewal jump, look at Sprout or Simplify. For better-rated matching, Jobright. For approval modes plus interview practice, AIApply. For applications sent on the employer's own form that ask instead of guessing, Tolta, our product, which is pre-launch.
Tolta is our product and is one of the options below. We list where each tool is the better pick.
Why people switch from JobAssist
- The $5.99 first week renews at $59.99 a month, a step Trustpilot reviewers complain about
- Refunds are at JobAssist's discretion, not a stated right
- Reviewers report matches that ignore their location, seniority or skills
- Fewer matches than advertised after paying
- Job sources aren't named, and the site is inconsistent on whether it tailors your resume

Tolta competes with JobAssist and with every tool on this list. We’ve tried to be fair: each fact links to the tool’s own pages or a public review site, and we say where other tools beat ours. Tolta is our product. We haven’t run paid trials of these tools yet. This page is based on their own sites, terms, Trustpilot and public user reports, checked on October 12, 2026.

Why do people look for a JobAssist alternative?
Most people leaving JobAssist cite billing or match quality. The $5.99 first week renews at $59.99 a month, refunds are at its discretion, and Trustpilot reviewers report jobs that ignored their location, seniority or skills. JobAssist does have a strong idea worth keeping: you approve every application, and replies are tracked in one place.
Here is what JobAssist’s own pages say:
- Pricing. Its homepage lists $5.99 for the first week or $23.99 for the first month, both renewing at $59.99 a month, or $49.99 for the first three months, then $149.99 every three months. It notes prices may vary by region and promotion.
- Refunds. Its terms say it isn’t “in a position to accommodate refund requests as a routine matter” and that any outcome is at its discretion. Requests go to help@jobassist.com within 30 days of the charge.
- Sources. It describes “7M+ verified jobs” without naming where they come from.
On Trustpilot, JobAssist held 1.7 from 22 reviews on October 12, 2026, mostly 1-star, with no replies to negative reviews. Its homepage shows 4.8 from a different platform, REVIEWS.io, where reviewers praise time saved and match quality.
Which alternative has clearer pricing?
Sprout and Simplify both publish flat prices with no intro-to-renewal jump. Sprout is $19.99 a week, $39.99 a month or $79.99 for three months, and it refunds in full within 7 days if no credits were used. Simplify’s autofill is free, and its paid plan uses the same flat structure, though it doesn’t refund after activation.
Sprout also keeps JobAssist’s review step: you see and edit a tailored resume and cover letter, then swipe or tap to apply. Its iOS app holds 4.6 from about 72,000 ratings. Reviewers say the price only appears after a long setup, and some report repetitive postings. See our Sprout review.
Which alternative has better matching?
Jobright has the strongest public ratings here, and reviewers single out accurate matching and resume tailoring. It held 4.8 from 3,580 Trustpilot reviews and 4.8 on iOS on October 12, 2026. If irrelevant or wrong-location jobs drove you away from JobAssist, Jobright is the fairest place to look first.
Its autofill extension leaves the final submit to you, so you keep approval of every application. Its newer Agent applies for you, but how it handles approval and questions it can’t answer isn’t documented publicly. Pricing is in-app only. Its refund policy gives a full refund within 7 days of the first charge on monthly and longer plans, and 24 hours on weekly plans.
Which alternative offers more than applying?
AIApply is the broadest suite on this list. It adds mock interviews and a live “Interview Buddy”, and lets you choose how much to automate: Review mode has you approve each match, Hybrid auto-applies to high-fit roles, and Auto applies without asking. It held 4.3 from 1,971 Trustpilot reviews on October 12, 2026.
Its public pricing page shows no figures, and Auto-Apply credits are sold on top of the subscription. Its terms say Auto-Apply is non-refundable once applications are submitted. Reddit users report applications to unrelated roles, so Review mode is the safer place to start. Our AIApply alternatives page covers it further.
Which alternative applies on the employer’s own form?
JobCopilot and Tolta both aim at employer career pages rather than unnamed sources. JobCopilot says it applies only to verified jobs on official company career pages. Tolta reads company career boards directly, submits through the employer’s own form and holds any application with a question it can’t answer so it can ask you.
JobCopilot starts from $0.93 a day, as of October 2026, with an optional save-for-review step. Refunds are offered only for technical issues reported within 7 days, and its Trustpilot rating was 2.1 from 98 reviews on October 12, 2026.
Tolta reads Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Rippling, Workable and Teamtailor boards. Auto-apply is live today on Workable, Rippling and Teamtailor, with more boards being switched on, and it’s a setting: with it off, every application waits for your go-ahead, much like JobAssist. Each user gets a personal application email address and an in-app inbox for replies, and Tolta doesn’t automate LinkedIn. What it never auto-fills is on our safety page. Tolta is pre-launch, with no prices and no public reviews yet.
How should you choose?
Start from the problem that made you leave JobAssist, then check four things before paying: what the plan renews at after any intro price, the refund rule in the tool’s own words, where its jobs come from, and what it does when a form asks something it doesn’t know. Set a reminder before any intro period ends.

What is the best alternative to JobAssist?
It depends on why you're switching. If the renewal price was the problem, Sprout and Simplify publish flat prices. If matches were the problem, Jobright has the strongest public ratings for matching. If you want approval modes plus interview practice, AIApply. If you want no guessed answers on employer forms, Tolta, our product, which is pre-launch.
Is there a free alternative to JobAssist?
Yes. Simplify's Copilot Chrome extension, tracker, job matches and basic resume builder are free for everyone. The extension autofills application forms on Workday, Greenhouse, Lever and other systems, and you click submit yourself. That keeps the approve-every-application control JobAssist offers, at no cost, but you do the browsing and clicking.
Which JobAssist alternative still lets me approve every application?
Sprout has you review and edit, then swipe or tap to apply. AIApply's Review mode has you approve each match. Simplify's free Copilot and Jobright's autofill leave the final submit to you. JobCopilot has an optional save-for-review step. In Tolta, turning auto-apply off makes every application wait for your go-ahead.
Which JobAssist alternative has a clearer refund policy?
Sprout states a full refund within 7 days if no credits were used. Jobright states a full refund within 7 days of the first charge on monthly and longer plans, and 24 hours on weekly plans. Is there a JobAssist alternative that tells you where jobs come from?
JobCopilot says it applies only to verified jobs on official company career pages. Tolta names the career boards it reads: Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Rippling, Workable and Teamtailor. JobAssist describes '7M+ verified jobs' without naming sources. Knowing the source helps you avoid reposts and postings that have already closed.
