Lever jobs: how to find and apply to roles on Lever boards
Lever jobs are roles that companies post on their own Lever career board, at jobs.lever.co/<company>. There is no central Lever job search, so you find these boards through Google site: searches or a tool that reads them, then apply on Lever's one-page form, with no account to create.

Lever postings sit on company career boards that most job seekers only reach by accident, through a careers link or a reposted listing. This page covers how to recognize a Lever board, search across them, and get through Lever’s application form. If you would rather have new roles from these boards found for you, that is what an AI job finder like Tolta does.
What is Lever?
Lever is an applicant tracking system (ATS) and recruiting CRM that employers use to post jobs, collect applications and run their hiring pipeline. It is part of Employ Inc., alongside JazzHR and Jobvite. For job seekers, Lever matters because it hosts each customer’s public career board and the form you apply through.
When you apply on a Lever form, your application lands directly in the employer’s own hiring pipeline, not in a job-board inbox that someone has to forward. That is the main reason to apply on the company’s board rather than through a reposted listing.
How do you recognize a Lever job board?
A Lever board is a page at jobs.lever.co followed by the company’s board name, such as jobs.lever.co/leverdemo. Companies on Lever’s EU instance use jobs.eu.lever.co instead. A single posting adds a long ID after the company name, and the application form adds /apply at the end.
The patterns, using Lever’s own demo board:
- Board (all open roles):
jobs.lever.co/<company> - One posting:
jobs.lever.co/<company>/<posting-id> - Application form:
jobs.lever.co/<company>/<posting-id>/apply - EU instance: the same paths on
jobs.eu.lever.co
Some companies embed their Lever postings in their own careers page instead. You can still tell: the Apply button sends you to a jobs.lever.co address, and the page footer reads “Jobs powered by Lever”. Board pages let you filter by location, location type (on-site, hybrid, remote), team and work type.
How do you search for jobs on Lever?
Lever has no public search across all of its customers’ boards, so the practical way to search Lever jobs is Google. Restrict results to Lever’s board domain with the site: operator, then add a job title, skill or location in quotes. Each result is a live posting on an employer’s own board.
Useful patterns to adapt:
- By title:
site:jobs.lever.co "product manager" - Title plus remote:
site:jobs.lever.co "backend engineer" remote - Title plus city:
site:jobs.lever.co "account executive" "New York" - Seniority:
site:jobs.lever.co "senior" "data analyst" - Exclude a word:
site:jobs.lever.co "designer" -intern - EU boards:
site:jobs.eu.lever.co "customer success"
Use Google’s Tools menu to limit results to the past week or month. Google’s index lags behind the boards, so a fresh posting can take days to appear and a closed one can linger. Always check that the posting still opens before you spend time on the form.
What does the Lever application form ask?
Lever’s hosted form is a single page with no account or sign-in. It asks for a resume, your contact details, links such as LinkedIn, whatever custom questions the employer has added and, on US postings, a voluntary EEO section. Only name and email are required by Lever itself; each employer decides what else is required.
On a typical Lever form you will see, in order:
- Resume/CV upload. Lever reads the file and pre-fills fields such as your name, email and current company. Check every pre-filled field before submitting.
- Contact details: full name, optional pronouns, email, phone, current location (picked from a suggestion list) and current company.
- Links: LinkedIn, GitHub, portfolio or other website, depending on the employer’s settings.
- Custom questions. The employer’s own questions, for example “Are you eligible to work in the United States?”, sponsorship, salary expectations, or a short written answer. These vary by posting.
- Additional information: on many forms, an optional free-text box, often used for a short cover note.
- U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity information: gender, race or ethnicity, veteran status and sometimes disability status, all marked voluntary, each with a decline option. Some employers add a separate optional demographic survey.
After you submit, Lever normally sends a confirmation email to the address you entered.
How does Lever read your resume?
Lever’s parser pulls text out of your resume to fill your candidate profile, including name, organization and contact details. It handles Word (.docx), PDF, RTF, HTML and OpenOffice files, but it cannot read image files such as JPG or PNG. A quick test from Lever’s help center: if you can highlight the text in your file, it can be parsed.
What that means in practice:
- Export your resume as a text-based PDF or .docx, never a scan or a photo.
- Keep your name, email and phone as plain text near the top, not inside a header image.
- Use standard section names such as Experience and Education so the recruiter finds them quickly.
- When the form pre-fills a field wrongly, fix it on the form. The recruiter sees what you submit, not what the parser guessed.
What are the best tips for applying to Lever jobs?
Apply on the company’s own Lever form, early, with a resume that matches the posting and links that work. Use one email address per company, because Lever groups your applications by email, and answer custom questions specifically. Lever forms are short, so the quality of your resume and answers carries most of the weight.
- Apply early. Postings close when a role is filled, so a posting from this week is usually a better use of your time than one from two months ago.
- Match the posting, honestly. Mirror the posting’s terms where they truly describe your experience. Recruiters read the resume itself, and padding shows.
- Fill in the LinkedIn field. Make sure the URL is your public profile URL and that the profile tells the same story as your resume.
- Treat eligibility questions carefully. Work authorization and location questions are often used to screen applications, so answer them accurately for that specific role.
- Use the Additional information box for a two- or three-sentence note on why this role, if the form has no cover letter field.
- Keep a record. Lever sends a confirmation, but nothing on Lever’s side tracks your applications across companies. Track them yourself or with an application tracker.
Where does Tolta help with Lever jobs?
Tolta reads Lever boards directly today. New roles posted on the Lever boards Tolta follows are collected from the source, matched to your profile, and shown with a link to the employer’s own form. Submitting the application on Lever’s form for you is not switched on yet; it is coming.
Tolta finds new roles on company career boards, including Greenhouse, Lever and Ashby, rather than relying on reposts, so you see Lever postings close to when they go live. Today, Tolta’s auto-apply submits on the employer’s own form for Workable, Rippling and Teamtailor boards, and it will cover every board it reads, Lever included. When it does, it will work the same way as on those boards: when a form asks something your profile can’t answer, Tolta holds the application and asks you once instead of guessing. Until then, you apply to Lever matches yourself on the Lever form, using the tips above. Frequently asked questions
Do I need a Lever account to apply to a job?
No. Lever's hosted application form is a public page with no sign-in. You fill in the form and click Submit application. Lever identifies you by your email address, so applications to several roles at the same company are grouped under one candidate record on the employer's side. You usually get a confirmation email after you apply.
Is there a website that lists all Lever jobs?
Lever itself has no public search across companies; each employer has its own board at jobs.lever.co/<company>. To search many boards at once, use a Google site: search such as site:jobs.lever.co "data analyst" remote, or a job tool that reads Lever boards directly, as Tolta does.
Can I apply to several jobs at the same company on Lever?
Yes. Each posting has its own form. Lever de-duplicates candidates by email address, so if you use the same email the employer sees one person applying to several roles. Apply only to roles that genuinely fit; recruiters can see all of your applications side by side.
Do I have to fill out the EEO questions on a Lever application?
No. The US Equal Employment Opportunity section on Lever forms is labeled voluntary, and every question offers a decline option such as "Decline to self-identify". The form states that refusing to answer will not subject you to adverse treatment. Some employers add a separate demographic survey, which is also optional.
Does Tolta auto-apply to Lever jobs?
Not yet. Tolta reads Lever boards today, so new Lever roles show up in your matches with a link to the employer's form. Automatic submission on Lever's form is coming. Today Tolta submits on Workable, Rippling and Teamtailor forms, and it will cover every board it reads.
